Charis is a singer/songwriter based in Melbourne, Australia. It has been a passion over her life to sing and be involved in all many different types of music. Her main focus is church music, aiming to bring a fresh sound and relevant message to ‘church’ today.

Charis has recorded two albums to date with all songs written and sung by her. Whilst she also plays the piano, her main focus has become singing and worship leading in her local church. “The local church is so central to the gospel message today and if I can do something to help make it more accessible and relevant to those unfamiliar with the whole church thing, then I will.”

Charis is also a nurse and believes her passion for music and nursing compliment each other well.
 

“I will never forget a patient of mine who was receiving chemotherapy treatment recently for cancer. An elderly lady, her husband died 15 years ago and she still missed him dreadfully. For some reason this day, I had taken a CD into work. I had never taken one before, and have never done since, but the Lord prompted me whilst chatting with her, to play my CD to her, which I did. Lying on her bed, I prayed with her a very short prayer, and as she lay there with chemotherapy slowly dripping in to one arm, and my CD playing, she softly said  "if I were to die now, I would be happy".

“That is what it is all about for me. She had an opportunity for a moment to centre her thoughts on God, and that is what makes it all so pleasurable.”
